From wikipedia.org:

The Gobliiins series consists of four puzzle adventure games developed and released by Coktel Vision (and later Sierra On-Line) for the Amiga, Atari ST, MS-DOS, and Macintosh (and later iOS and Windows) platforms. The first three titles were released in the early 1990s, the fourth in 2009.

Gameplay
The games mix elements of adventure and puzzle gaming. In essence, the player must find the solution to each area (or level), consisting of one or more screens, in order to progress to the next.

An original aspect of the series is that the player usually controls multiple goblins as player characters, each of whom has a unique set of abilities (the number of letter i's in the word "Goblin" of the title indicates the number of characters that the player may control). The player may only control one character at a time but, depending on the specific scene, may switch characters at will. The original Gobliiins features a shared health system for all three characters, which meant that leaving characters in the wrong place could be detrimental, though this feature is not implemented in the sequels.

All games are available in CD format. The first three include voices instead of the "goblinish" talk that featured on the floppy disk versions. The CD version also censors the nudity featured in the original game.

Gobliiins (1991)
In the first Gobliiins game, the player controls a team of three different goblins each with a unique skill. The first goblin, Asgard (BoBo in the US release), is a warrior who is more brawn than brain, and whose skill is punching, causing various things to break or fall over. He is also the only one who can climb other objects than stairs and ladders. The second goblin, Ignatius (US: Hooter), is a magician who can 'zap' things with magic with a wide variety of usually unexpected effects, which include objects moving, growing, or coming alive. The third, Oups (US: Dwayne), is a technician and is the only one of the three that can pick up and use items.

The story follows the three goblins as they attempt to aid their king, who has gone insane under mysterious circumstances. They meet with the wizard Niak, who informs them he can cure the king's madness if they bring him three items. However, upon obtaining the items, Niak is revealed to be the one behind the king's insanity and he manipulated the goblins into performing his bidding. The goblins manage to escape from Niak's lair, save the king by destroying the voodoo doll used to drive him insane, and defeat Niak while he is creating deadly potions.

The game is linear and consists of 22 levels, each of which occupies a single screen. The puzzles on each level must be successfully solved in order to progress to the next.

Several actions may harm the goblin involved, including leaving them in an unsafe place, using incorrect items, or interacting with items with the wrong characters, thus reducing their shared life meter. When the meter runs out, the game ends in defeat (though all levels can be completed without loss of life).

The librarian

Code: NGOGKSP

King Angoulafre has been cured, but the wizard Niak is still at large. The Gobliiins, determined to find him and put a stop to his evil doings, go out in search of the Supreme Weapon, which is buried in the ruins of an ancient castle, so legends say. The Gobliiins find this castle, and the first individual they meet there is a librarian named Carbonek, who has recently been bitten by a werewolf and now spends his time writing depressing books, lamenting the beast he has become. Perhaps the Gobliiins can help cheer him up.

Do not read any of the books lying around: Carbonek's books are melancholy enough to make the reader's energy diminish. Have BoBo dislodge one of the bananas by hitting the bunch. Have Dwayne pick it up and make him use it on Carbonek the librarian. Dwayne will "accidentally" slip on the banana, but the librarian will just snarl grumpily at him, though Hooter and BoBo are quite amused. Have Dwayne pick up the soap under the bananas and use it on the librarian. Dwayne will eat a piece of it and spew out a few bubbles. At first the librarian seems just as irritated as before, but this time he chuckles a little before falling back into his depressed state.

Pick up the false nose and use it on the librarian to make Dwayne wear it. This not only makes Carbonek laugh, but he even changes back into a human. He then finishes writing the book he is working on, which he places in front of Dwayne. Pick up the book of witchcraft and try reading it (it is much more lighthearted than Carbonek's earlier works). Have Hooter cast a spell on the gate in the center of the screen to open it.

Inside the castle

Code: NNGWTTO

Meliagante is another inhabitant of the castle. He is a giant whose passion is reading, although Carbonek's melancholy works have made Meliagante quite grumpy. The Gobliiins will have to lift his spirits as well if they are to uncover the Supreme Weapon.

Have Hooter cast a spell on the little object sticking out of the ground beneath the carving of the shield (this can be tricky since it is such a tiny target) (Figure 12). This makes it grow into a lever. Have BoBo hit the lever to make a ladder to the stone slab appear. Make Hooter climb the ladder and use his magic on the cork stuck in the giant's ear to remove it.

Now have Dwayne use the book of witchcraft on Meliagante the giant's ear to read to him. The giant finds the book so amusing that he cries tears of laughter. He also becomes much friendlier and allows the Gobliiins to walk past him. Get the bait from the top left tower (it is very difficult to spot) (Figure 13), then get the bowl from the top right tower, leaving the bait in its place. A bizarre monster lurches out of the tower and stands next to the bait. Obviously, the Gobliiins will need to get rid of that monster.

Place the bowl under Meliagante's face (where his tears are landing). Pick up the book and read to the giant again. This time, his tears fall into the bowl. Pick up the bowl of tears and have Dwayne use it on the monster. The monster disintegrates, leaving a catapult behind. Pick it up. Is this the Supreme Weapon that can destroy Niak?

Leaving the castle

Code: LGWFGUS

Carbonek the librarian is gone. The Gobliiins will have to find the wizard Niak on their own.

Have Dwayne use the catapult with the bunch of bananas to knock it down, exposing the lever behind them. Have BoBo hit the lever. The large gate opens and an enormous fish swims through it, stopping near the shore. Move all the Gobliiins onto its back to complete the level.

From archive.org:

MELIAGANTE lives a bit further away, in the ruins of a castle. His only pastime is reading books which the librarian writes for him. However, since the time that CARBONEK (the librarian) was bitten by a werewolf, he has taken to writing the most melancholy works, lamenting his lost humanity. These writings plunge MELIAGANTE into the depths of melancholy too. As legend has it, a magic weapon which could destroy all wizardry is buried deep under the rubble.
