[the player rescues Old John from the prison, then escapes the zombies by entering the sewers]
NARRATOR: All three of them ... Sheriff Old John, Mike and Professor Harper escape through the sewage system, back to the bunker and safety. Maybe they will survive this nightmare together.
PROFESSOR HARPER: Phew, that was close! Are you satisfied now, son?
MIKE REED: We should be grateful to get any help! Do you think just the two of us can do this alone?
OLD JOHN: Come on guys, get a grip! We have to stick together if we want to get out of here alive!
MIKE REED: What the heck's going on here? What happend to these people?
OLD JOHN: I don't know ... The cook attacked a prisoner in the canteen, and then there was total chaos. We lost control, so I decided to scram! I locked myself in a cell when those monsters came for me. Well, you know the rest of the story.
PROFESSOR HARPER: Listen, it seems a virus has stricken people here and ... well, changed them into monsters. If we can get a blood sample from the first person infected, Patient Zero, maybe we'll have a small chance to create an antidote. Since we haven't got any idea who Patient Zero is, we must leave this place as fast as we can and try to track them down. Then the government can take care of this mess.
MIKE REED: And now?
OLD JOHN: While I was trapped in the cell, I could hear some shooting outside. I think it came from the library ... heh, and I am not talking about regular gun shots here. It sounded like some pretty heavy armory. That can only be old Bo, the Vietnam veteran. I guess he's holed out on the roof and is practicing for duck shooting season.
MIKE REED: You mean there's another survivor?
PROFESSOR HARPER: So what? Seems he can take care of himself. Trying to rescue him would be like pissing in the wind. We should be thinking about how we're gonna get ourselves outta this damn hick town ... the railroad is our best bet!
OLD JOHN: Now don't you be so godamn selfish! Anyways, we need his help more than he needs us. Look, if someone 'round here has the skills to save us from this hell, i-it's this guy! I suggest me move on to the library.
[the player exits the sewers and makes his way towards the Hedge Hill Public Library]
NARRATOR: Bo really did build a barricade on the roof.
[cut to a cartoon drawing of a white flag sticking out from behind some garbage cans outside of the library (as seen through the scope on Bo's assault rifle)]
BO THE VETERAN: Either someone is making fun of me or this is a rescue party!
[cut to a cartoon drawing of Bo's face]
BO THE VETERAN: Do you want to play hide and seek forever or start helping me? There's no damned cartridges left! Bring me my ammunition, and don't ask why I left it down there! I blew the stairs up, so use the fire escape ladder!
["Objective: Find the Ammunition Box" appears on screen, as the player makes his way around the library and enters the side entrance (where he proceeds to clear the building of several waves of zombies)]
["Objective: Meet Bo Behind the Library" appears on screen, as the player finds the ammunition box, then exits the library and maked his way towards the fire escape on the back of the building]
NARRATOR: Finally Bo, the old veteran, can leave the roof of the library. He survived because he had enough supplies, weapons and ammunition when this chaos broke out. Sure, it had been a diversion to clear the streets of these creatures, but when he lost his ammunition, he got bored. He and his rescuers go together to the old bunker beyond the town. His experience will be a real asset for the other survivors.

From trappeddead.com:

Our story takes place in the early 80s in a small town names Hedge Hill near Kansas City, Missouri. The sowing of a new genetically modified type of corn caused the existence of a new virus which mutated through the natural food chain. A dog bite of an infected animal caused a local outbreak of the virus which rapidly infected the inhabitants of the idyllic provincial town. Mike and Gerald, two college boys, are thrown into the middle of a terrifying horror scenario. Having pulled over to a gas station near Hedge Hill during what was meant to be an enjoyable road trip, they are unaware of the virus which has already reached the gas station and its staff ...

Trapped Dead is a tactical real time strategy game in the tradition of classical evergreens such as "Commandos" and "Desperados". Players control their characters in a 3rd person isometric view through a mature Zombie survival scenario inspired by the successful Horror movies of the early 80s.
