[scene opens inside a public library, where Phil is using a microfiche reader to look at an old copy of the "Carson City News" (with the headline "Western Pacific Railroad Robbed")]
PHIL: [whispering] Hey Mitch, look at this.
[Mitch comes over and reads the byline]
MITCH: "June 12th, 1908."
[Phil grabs a map from a pile of papers on the table]
PHIL: 1908, that's what it says on the map!
MITCH: Yeah, but what could Curly have to do with this? In 1908, he wasn't born yet!
PHIL: Hey hey, look at this. The starting spot on the map, Spencer ... it's only 65 miles from--
[he looks at where Phil is pointing on the map]
MITCH: Las Vegas.
PHIL: [loudly] This is fate!
[an old man sitting behind them shushes them]
PHIL: Up yours ...
[Mitch ignores the man and looks at the microfiche reader]
MITCH: "A million dollars in gold bars lost" ... If that was a million then, gold is like ten times more valuable now, isn't it?
PHIL: Twenty!
[they both try to keep quiet while repeating the words "Twenty million dollars!", but the old man shushes them again]
MITCH: Sorry, sorry ... What'm I doing? I'm getting crazy, this is ridiculous!
PHIL: This is not crazy, this is all fitting into place!
[he changes the microfiche reader to a different page of the newspaper, with the headline "Stiff 10 Year Sentences Handed Out to Four Robbers"]
PHIL: Look look look, I got the trial of the guys who robbed the train.
[he starts reading]
PHIL: "Stood impassively while sentence was" ... blah blah blah. Leader of the gang? Lincoln Washburn!
[he points to the map where "X" marks the spot]
PHIL: "L. Washburn!"
MITCH: I don't believe this ...
[the camera focuses on the microfiche reader screen, as the story reads "The Washburn gang stood impassively while sentence was read before a packed courthouse. The leader of the gang, Lincoln Washburn, the defiant outlaw challenged the authorities. 'I took it, you find it,' he said. So far none of the gold has been recovered."]
PHIL: "Challenged the authorities, 'I took it, you find it' he said. So far, none of the gold has been recovered" ... None of the gold has been recovered? Mitch, let's do it!
MITCH: Do what?
PHIL: Go after the gold!
MITCH: Are you serious?
PHIL: Yes!
[as Phil's voice begins to rise again, the old man gets up to leave]
PHIL: Look, when we get to Las Vegas, let's go to this town ... This, this Spencer, let's follow the map and see where it leads us!
MITCH: [whispering] You're getting a little excited.
PHIL: You're damn right I'm getting excited!
[Mitch grabs him and starts dragging him towards the stacks]
PHIL: Mitch, Mitch, this could be the opportunity of a lifetime!
[Mitch pushes him against the shelf and starts chastising him]
MITCH: You are out of control! Stop and think a minute! Why would Curly keep something like this in his hat?
PHIL: Because he didn't take his filing cabinet on the cattle drive! Waddaya mean?
MITCH: What I mean is, if he had this map worth a kajillion dollars, why did he stick it in his hat? Why didn't he go get the treasure?
PHIL: Well, maybe he ... never got around to it!
MITCH: Never got around ... You'd think for twenty million dollars, you'd budget your time!
[a female librarian approaches with a stern look on her face]
LIBRARIAN: Shh!
[she turns and leaves, as Mitch starts to walk away in disgust]
PHIL: Mitch ... Mitch!
MITCH: Shh!

From google.com:

In "City Slicker's II: The Legend of Curly's Gold," Helen Siff portrays an "only 38" stereotypical image by pushing a booktruck and by uttering a "shush" at Mitch Robbins (Billy Crystal) and Phil Berquist (Daniel Stern), who are talking loudly. A brunette (full bang; short layered cut) with eyeglasses on a lanyard, Siff appears on-screen for only a few seconds.

From byui.edu:

CITY SLICKERS II: THE LEGEND OF CURLY'S GOLD (1994). Treasure hunters search through old newspapers on microfilm, and when they find what they need (by accident, it seems) they hoot and holler, making so much noise that (guess what?) the elderly, grey-hair-in-a-bun librarian shushes them.
